It would seem that my microphone isn’t working properly, so I can’t do video reviews for now, sorry! Anyway, I’m reviewing Combat Arms, a free MMOFPS by Nexon, the makers of MapleStory.
Intro:
Combat Arms is one of those games that makes you respect the MMOFPS genre, read on.
Graphics:
Once again, its off Google Images, I'm lazy.
The graphics are actually not bad, considering this is a free game, the levels, weapons and characters are detailed, but it can get a bit ‘blocky’ at times, which lets me down a bit.
Sound/Music: The music is well orchestrated, its the type of thing you’d expect in a game like Call of Duty or Halo.
Gameplay: The gameplay is good, but it does have its flaws. There are 4 game modes, “Elimination”, which is your usual team deathmatch, which works pretty well, “Search and Destroy”, which is a game mode where you have to set off a bomb on your opponent teams base, ever played “Griffball” on Halo, its kind of like that, without the Gravity Hammers of course, “One Man Army”, which is the usual “all against all” deathmatch, “Capture the Flag”, which is pretty self explanatory, “Spy Hunt”, which is the most interesting one, people have to pick up ‘intel’ (ever played Splinter Cell?), and if he/she picks up an intel case, they become a spy, you have to try and get all of the intel cases, and if one person gets all 5 intel cases, they become a “Super Spy”, and the game enters Sudden Death, in Sudden Death, the super spy has to upload the intel to a computer, and everyone else has to stop him, and if the spy succeeds, he/she wins the game, “Fireteam” is like Terrorist Hunt on Rainbow Six Vegas 2, you have to work with other people to save hostages and kill enemies, simple. Finally there is “Quarantine Mode”, which is quite a fun one, there are 2 teams, one team of “Normal People” and one team of Zombies, its the zombies job to infect everyone and win, and its the “Normal People’s” job to kill all the zombies. While all these games are fun, there is one, quite big flaw, there are so many hackers and bots, it ruins the game for lots of people who actually try to play, but overall they are fun, minus the hackers.
Overall: Overall this game is a very fun one, with good graphics, music and gameplay, its easily playable… minus the hackers that is.
